Self Introduction

I was born in Oita, Japan on January 12; 1991.I am twenty years old now. I lived for fifteen years in there. My family is five members. I am youngest child in three sisters. We live in the city.Now, I live in Kumamoto with my sister. She goes to Kumamoto prefectural university, so we live in near there.
I go to Kumamoto Gakuen University. Now, I am second grade. I belong to department of English, so I want to speak English fluently.
Next, I introduce to my friends. My best friend is Arisa. She lives in Oita now. She is so funny and kind. When I come back Oita, I always play with her. I met her, when I was elementary school student, so I have been good friend for 8 years. Now, I live apart from her, but she is special friend for me! In Kumamoto, I am always a group of five. They are kind and individual. So, they are good company! Finally, I talk to about my interests. I have a lot of interests! First of all, I like to watch movies, so I often go to movie theatre in my free time. I like Wednesday, because it can watch movie in 1000 yen only women. Secondly, I also like to listen to music. Especially, I like foreign music. These days, I am absorbed in Lady GAGA. She has beautiful voice and is so individual. I like EXILE too. They are cool and good pefomer. They is good for dancing and singing. They are perfect! Thirdly, I like to read book. I read Japanese novels very well. (270 words)

1. Do you think it is better to live alone or to live with your parents?

I think it is better to live with my parents, because I don’t feel lonely, and I can do without homework, so I can devote myself to study.

I think it is better to live with my parents.

3. Do you think it is better to do a part-time job or to devote to yourself completely to study?

I feel it is better to do a part-time job, because I can know society. It is so useful when I become a working member of society.

It is useful to improve ability to communication, and I can build up a network of connections.


5. Would you prefer to live in a traditional tatami room or a western style room?

I prefer to live in western room, because I live in western room now. So, it is make me calm down, but I like tatami room too.

6. Should students pay part of our tuition fees to instead of their parents paying for costs?

I think it depends. If the house suffers from severe economic conditions, I should pay my tuition, but if the parents have leeway of money, they can pay tuition fees.(233 words)

Imaginary story

In 1917, the First World War started just three years. I was born in Russia is 12-year-old girl. My father and brother away to go to war, that my mother also worked in a military factory. Due to the prolonged battle, the food is gone every day, public dissatisfaction was growing. But those who opposed the Russian government have been arrested because they always, we had to put up with all their strength. One day, had suffered from malnutrition and overwork, mother. However, I have no one to depend on anyone, One who had been a nurse. In such circumstances, distribution of food crop graduate to less every day, without any money, go and hospitals, medical condition of the mother could only get worse. Finally, without even a tear for my nurse, my mother had died. I was filled with sadness and anger. "If not for this war, and my mother been alive, and everyone could have a happy family life" and. From the day I got up to change the country. Revolutionize our colleagues for me to agree with me that the factory, they made a secret society. Our activities are spread in the shade, now many citizens to participate in the demonstration. Demo size is increased with each passing day, the power of the government was unable to control. Then, around six months to create a secret society, after all these, we had the birth of a new national government for finally breaking down of the government. Kumamoto

I introduce food in Kumamoto.
Basashi is typical food in Kumamoto. It is eaten raw, because it has not strong aroma.
People of Kumamoto eat it with soy of garlic. It contains a lot of iron and protein. In Kumamoto, the food is available on supermarket.
In addition, Kumamoto is famous for water is delicious because it is purveying by ground water.
Karashi Renkon is made from Renkon. The recipe is that stuff Renkon hole with mustard.
After that, deep-fry them. Ikinari Dango is staple dissert in Kumamoto. It wraps up bean paste and sweet potato in rice dumpling, and is steamed. It owes the name to Kumamoto dialect. In Kumamoto, when they say “Ikinari”, it means “soon” in English.Since they could cook it soon for arrival of unexpected guests, it was named Ikinari Dango.
And, speaking of gain popularity among young people, it is Kumamoto Ramen.
Kumamoto has a lot of Ramen shop. It is popular shop that Kiyomasa Ramen, Kokutei, Ajisen Ramen, Keika Ramen. Kumamoto Ramen is characterized by pork bone broth and garlic, and Tyubuto noodle. But, the taste is different from each shop, so I recommend going a lot of shops!
Finally, I talked about famous souvenir in Kumamoto. Jindaiko and Mushagaeshi are sweet that using bean paste. It is loved by a lot of people. There is Kumamoto’s leading souvenir!
If you don’t like sweet food, I recommend Taipiien. It is Chinese food which is Kumamoto-born. In a simple term, it is bean-starch vermicelli soup. Since it becomes a part of life in Kumamoto, It is served in school lunches. Nowadays, the food can buy in super market.
As just described, Kumamoto’s food is delicious and broad based. If your acquaintance comes to Kumamoto, please get to local dishes store! It’s good bet that will be pleased. (293 words)

5. Where would you like to go if you could travel tomorrow by yourself?
I want to go France and Korea, because I study them now. I am interested both countries. I imagine France as fashionable countries. If I can go to there, I want to go a lot of art museums and café! I want to eat various French foods.
Then, I imagine Korea as food is very good. I don’t like hot food much, but I want to eat real taste. Also, prices are low than Japan, so I want to go shopping many things

6. What are you the most important aspects in preparing for an overseas trip?
It is the most important thing to check the countries. Checking the country, I can enjoy the trip so much. In addition to that, if the country is dangerous, we must do any measure. So, I think that it is the most important thing.

7. Where would you like to go if you could travel tomorrow with your family?
I want to go Hawaii, because there are a lot of beautiful beach. I want to swim there with my family. I hear that there is a lot of Japanese, so I think that there is safe than another country.

8. Why or why not is your answer to question 5 different from question 7? Why or why not?
Since I think that Hawaii can enjoy a lot of people than alone, it is different from each question (241 words/6402words)

Best friends

My best friend is Arisa. She lives in Oita. She go to junior college in Oita.
Her appearance is fair, slender, and cute. She likes to play with friend and shopping. Her good points are funny, kind, talk very well, and not shy.
We met in elementary school, but we didn't close friend then.We entered same junior high school and same club, so we became close friend since then. I used to be backing home with her, and we talked a lot of thing. We went to another high school each other, but we often played. Finally, we entered same part-time job place! I made many friends in there, and they are treasure for me.

It was the best memorable experience that went to Tokyo with her.
First, I went to Harajyuku and Shibuya. There were a lot of people! We went to many shops and bought a lot of clothes.
Second day, I went to seeing play. It was first for me.
The play was about ghost story. Because it was about three hour, I felt sleepy.
The last day, we went to Tokyo Disney Land. There was dreamland for us.
We took a lot of attraction and we enjoyed the time.

We live away now, but we are close friend. I think get along with her from now on.(213words)

Twenty

I became twenty at January 12th. But It hasn't hit me yet. that day, I ate cake with my older sister. I bought it at Swiss. It was delicious. Of course I drank alchol! The day was happy for me.
And, I think that can do for twenty. First, twenty can drink alchol. Second, the age must pay annual pension. It need not to ask parents' permission to travel and what to do. I guess twenty is freedom, but I must have great responsibilities sponsibilities for myself.
At twenty, I aim at nice person. I want to be beautiful and clever. I think I will improve my English skill. And, I am going to go foreign countries. At summer vacation, I will go to America. I can't wait to go there. Also, I want to go in Japan. I have curious about Hokkaido. There is a lot of delicious foods and beautiful nature. I never gone to there, I keen to travel there someday. Coming of age ceremony

At January 9th was coming of age ceremony! Because I drank too much the day before, I couldn't go to bed three hours. So, I got up 5 a.m. and I fixed up and set my hair. It took about three hours. Kimono was labored. And I went to photo studio. It took picture in memory of putting on Kimono. After that I went to my grand father's house. I also took picture with grandparents. Grandparents gave me celebration. At 12p.m. I attended coming of age ceremony of Oita city. Near the venue, I took picture with my friends of highschool and junior high school. There were a lot of people. After that, I took place ceremony of my area. There were a lot of rare sight. Everyone almost changed. They became grown-up. Moreover, I could meet teachers who age of Junior high school student. They didn't really changed. Because I like them, I was glad to meet them again! At night, It took place a junior high school reunion. We ate Yakiniku and drank alchol. I felt nostalgic. I thought that want to back this age. I spoke a lot of class mates. Because I got tired, I got home at 11p.m. And, I went to bed as soon as possible!
Coming of age ceremony held many memories. If it chance to put on Kimono, I want to put on it again! (233 words)

New Years Day

January 1st, I spend at Kumamoto , because I would go back to Oita, I couldn't go back there because of snow. Ofcouse, I went back to next day. And I went to my grandfather's house. I ate New Year's food made by grand mother. Her dishes is always good, so I ate too much. Next day, I went to downtown for the first day of business. I got my mother to buy clothes. I satisfied with this shopping. The follwing day, I played with friends. We went to local Izakaya. We stayed there about three hours. It was very fun for me! And the next morning, I went back to Kuamamoto for class. (115 words)

Memories

At December 18, 19th
My parents came to Kumamoto. December 18 th, I had plan, so we went to Izaka at night. We ate fresh seafoods, oyster and sasimi. It's been a while since I ate fresh seafoods. I am very satisfied! Next day, we went to Kumamoto castle. I went to there for the first time. The castle was very big and wide. I got tired from walking. We saw there for two hours. It was worth seeing. Feeling hungry, we went to Tatsunoya of Kumamoto Ramen. I first ate Kumamoto Ramen. It's plain compared with Fukuoka Ramen.It was very good! I want to go out for the Ramen again! In the evening, My parents went back to Oita. I could have a good time!
At December 23th
That day, It was christmas party of my English conversation's school. I danced to the music of AKB 48 with seniors and peers. It turned out to be extremely successful! Next we exchanged presents. I gave bath additive. Also, we played game! That rule is coming up with words in paper. My team won the game! My team recieved big Umaibou. Finally, drawing was held. The best goods was round-trip fright tickets from Kumamoto to Osaka. Unfortunately,I didn't recieved it. But I won fright ticket coupon. I was glad. I enjoyed the time. If the party take place next yeat, I will go certainly ! (232 words)

The world's foods

I introduce world's foods. First of all, I will talk about Italian foods. There are three good points. Italian foods have a lot of menu such as pasta, pizza. Moreover the price is cheap comparatively. It takes a time to make just right. On the contrary, the food tend to enter tomato and cheese,so person who don't like them hard to eat italian foods. Also the food contains a lot of oil,so make us fat! Next I talk about Mexican foods. The good points are many kinds of alchol, reasonable price. The bad points are too spicy and hot. I don't really eat mexican food, but I ate tacos onlyu one time. It was good for me. I want to more eat the foods. In contrast, I often eat chinese foods. I especially like ramen and fried rice. Chinese foods can enjoy atmosphere of China by music and costume. But, the food is expensive.Maybe the food is great luxury foodstuff in the menu. Also the food uses a lot of oil, so I feel be oily a little. Finally, I talk about Japanese foods. Above all, Japanese food is healthy and low calory. It abounds in sorts like of Yakiniku, Sukiyaki, Okonomiyaki, and Sushi. Additionally, the price is reasnable. But Japanese foods is difficult to eat, because you have to use chopsticks. Additionally, high number of fresh foods.

One Piece

I like to read manga,because it is makes me exciting. The best interesting manga is for me "One-Piece". The story is about pirates. Luffy want to be a No.1 pirates in the world. So, he begin to gather traveling friends. Luffy first met Zoro. He aim at the strongest sword man. He isvery cool,because he is calm and man of few words. But when he fights with sword, he is very strong. He always uses three swords. Luffy thinks he must be the strongest swordman,so Luffy decided to join friend. Next, they bagan to find out cook.Luffy is very glutton, so he wanted to eat good dishes. Then they met Sanji. He is cook of restaurant on the sea. Luffy persuade him to join friend, and he understood. After that, they find out good mate. Then they met Nami. She was thief originally. Moreover she don't really like pirates, because her mother was killed by pirates. But through one case, she decided to join thier friend. And, they increase friends such as doctor, historian, maintenance of ship, and musician. They are so individual. One-Piece is very interesting and moving comics! (191 words)

EMMA

Emma Woodhouse is beautiful, clever and rich. She likes to arrange marriages between her friends and neighbours in the village of Highbury. However, Emma makes a lot of mistakes and causes more problems than happy marriages. Then she almost loses her own chance of love.
The story is happy ending! Too many characters confused me, but it is made me happy! I recommend to read this novel! (66words)(4.0 points) (total=22.4 points)

The Great Gatsby

I read "The Great Gatsby". Because I studied american literature in class, I interested in this novel. This story told through the eyes of Nick Carraway. After he went to fight in the Great War, he decided to go East and the learn the bond business. So, in 1922, He went to New York. His house was on Long Island, near the sea. It stood between between two enormous houses that had been built for millionaires. The house on the right of my house had a swimming pool and was surrounded by beautiful lawns and gardens. It was Gatsby's house. No one knew where Jay Gatsby had come from or how he had become so rich. Everyone in New York went to the parties at Gatsby's beautiful house on Long Island. But he was interested in only one person, Daisy Buchanan. He think that maybe she comes this party. Before Gatsby went to fight in Great War, He and Daisy went out. But, Daisy get married another rich man after Gatsby went back War. After that, Gatsby and Daisy meet again through Nick. They attracted to each other again. But one case break up with their contact. Finally Gatsby was killed, but Daisy did not attend a his funeral. I thought that Daisy is horrible parson. I don't wanna be such a person. (225 words)(3.6 points)(remaining 1.6 points)

The magic School Bas and the Electric Field Trip

This book is written electricity. I felt that as if I really go to power plant. And so, I talk about electricity.
Most power plant use heat to make electricity. they burn fuels such as coal, oil, or natural gus. This good points is fuel-burning plants can make huge amounts of power. On the other hand, bad point is they all make air pollution. Some plants get heat from nuclear reactors. The good point is these make huge amounts of power without air pollution. The bad point is they create nuclear wastes. Back at making electricity, fuel is anything we burn to make energy. Dump truck tipped up, and trumbling down the coal chute. Overhead there was a metal pipe with water in it. The fire was making the water boil. And the boiling water was turning into steam. The steam was travelling at high speed. It is through the pipe and into the next room in the power plant. There was only one thing in the room- an enormous machine called a tribine. It had blades like a fan, and when the steam pushed on the blades, the the turbine spun around. The turbine made a mental shaft spin, too. It spun around the shaft and slid along to the next part of the power plant. The shaft led it to the generator- the part of the plant that actually makes electricity. This generator was really big. On the outside were coils of wire. On the inside was a magnet. The shaft turned the magnet, and the moving magnet made electric current run in the wire. Next the electrons got smaller. On the way it passed transforms, devices that made the voltage in the higher or lower. Higher voltage helps the current travel the long distance from the plant to the places that will use the electricity. Lower voltages are used in small buildings and homes.

My favorite country

I want to go France and Korean, because I studying them now. If I can go there, I want to go art museums in France. I am learning about western arts. So, I am interested in western arts. I will go to the Louvre and Orsey art museum. Also, I want to eat a lot of French dishes. I never haven’t eat real French foods. And, I want to go Korea in order to eat delicious Korean foods. I like spicy foods very much, so I can eat a lot of Korean spicy foods. Of course, I want to go shopping, because I hear of prices are low in Korea than Japan. If I go to there, I have the trip fill! Pride and Prejudice

"This famous novel by Jane Austen is full of wise and humorus observation of the people and manners of her times".


I read Pride and Prejudice. This novel is made into a movie many times. But I have not ever seen it, so I tried to read this novel. The main character is Elizabeth Bennet. The Bennet is family of seven, father and mother, and five sisters. Elizabeth is second girl of five sisters.
Her mother gave daughters to marry as soon as possible. Just then, wealthy young man moves into next door.His name is Bingly. Later, he get together oldest daughter Jane. Mrs Bennet hold ball. In there, Elizabeth meets Mr Darcy. She hate him because he insulted her. Moreover, Mr Darcy had much pride. One day, they meet again. Then, she cleared up some misunderstandings for him. They become attracted to each other. Finally,they get over pride and prejudice, and get married.
The story was very comlicated, but it is of interest to me that they understand eachother over time. (170 words)(YL=5.5 points) (8.7points to go)

Transportation

I often use bus in order to go to school and work place. Bus is comfortable, because there is warm and quite. I reading book, listening music in there. Next, I like to ride car. I don’t have car license, so I always ride the seat next to the driver. Car can go to place endlessly. So, I like it. My most favorite transportation is airplane. I thought it is very interesting. I can see scenery from sky. It makes me exciting. Moreover, airplane is fast than other transportation. Of course, another transportation is good too. Train isn’t influenced by weather. Bicycle is easy ride to you. It don’t need special license. Also, bicycle easy to go to near place.(120 words)

Elementary school memory

I remember that I went to Tokyo with my family. I stayed my cousin’s house for three days. First day, we went to shopping. Then I got lost, because there were a lot of people. I got scared Tokyo. Second day, I went to Tokyo Disney Land, and I took a picture with Donald Duck. I enjoyed the time. Final day, I came back home by airplane. I liked to take airplane, because I could get goods of planes. Next memorable vacation is school excursion. When I am in the sixth grade, I went to Fukuoka and Yamaguchi. First day, I went to Space World in Fukuoka. I took a lot of attraction. I felt that Titan is the most fearful attraction in there. I never took it again. Next day, I went to Yamaguchi in order to look limestone cave. There was so beautiful and chilly. I satisfied with this trip, because I could buy a lot of souvenir and make good memories. Sports to play

I like to play sport. When I was junior high school student, I belonged to soft ball club. Soft ball is similar to base ball, but soft ball easy to play than base ball. I took the center field player. It was outfielder. And I almost hit at first. Because we practiced outside, I had got sunburned. I like to play badminton. I used to play it in front of my house with my sister. Also, I often played it in class of P.E. I enjoy continuing rally. I learned Naginata when I was elementary school student. Naginata is like kendo, but its bamboo sword is long than kendo’s one. I continued to learn it for six years. Thanks to learn it, I become strong for my physical. (128 words)

I like to eat donuts. I often go to Mr.Donut. That is why I talk about my favorite donuts in Mr.Donut. I like angel French the best. The donut has cream in donut. I certainly eat the donut when I go to there. It makes me happy. Secondly, I like pon-de-ring too. Shape of the donut in unusual. As if it is looks like mane of lion. Actually, the character of pon-de-ring is existed. His name is pon-de-lion. His mane was made from pon-de-ring. When he is hungry, he takes off pon-de-ring, and he eats it. Moreover, the donut has a lot of sorts. In this autumn, soy sauce taste pon-de-ring was sold. In the sorts, I like ordinary pon-de-ring.(120 words)

I like to eat Japanese foods, because Japanese foods are healthy and fresh. I always eat nattou. It is very smell, but the taste is very good. Moreover, nattou have a lot of nutrition. So this food is good for health. I like sushi too. Japanese sushi has a lot of sort. I love kaiten sushi. Sushi goes around on the rail at the shop. Recently, sushi is carried by machine in the shape of train. We can enjoy seeing the look with eating it. Finally, I introduce my best favorite Japanese foods. It is nabe! Nabe is easy to cook. We can eat a lot of food, such as vegetables, meat, and fish. Japanese nabe have a lot of sort. Also it enjoys eating with family.(127 words)

NEW YORKERS

"This was the story of two young people who were very much in love"

I read "NEW YORKERS". The book is made up five short stories. These stories are different from each contents. But, the all stories are set in New York.
I was deeply impressed first story. The title is "The Christmas Presents". I will talk about the story.
Della and her husband Jim live in New York. They are very poor. Counting money, she had only one dollar and eighty-seven cents. Because the next day was Christmas, she wanted to send present for her husband. He has gold watch, but it had no chain. So, she thought of buying the chain. She has beautiful long hair, so she sold her hair for buying present. When she arrived shop, she looked at myself very short hair in the glass. 'What can I do with it?' she thought.
At seven o'clock the dinner was nearly ready. The door opened and Jim came in. Then he looked her face, but he was not angry or suprised. Suddenly Jim took something from his pocket and put it on the table. ' I love you, Della,' he said. Della pulled of the paper. A second later, there were combs. She wanted them, but she no longer had her hair! Della picked them up and held them. Her eyes were full of love. Next, She gave a present for him. But Jim didn't pleased.
